On May 16,2024 a group of students from Grade X had the privilege of visiting the biotechnology lab at PAU, organized by our Principal, Vice-Principal, and teaching staff. This visit proved to be an immensely enriching experience that left a lasting impression on all participants.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by a staff member who introduced us to the significant achievements of Dr. Gurdev Singh Khush. We then toured a speed breeding facility, witnessing firsthand the innovative experiments and technologies being developed. This experience ignited a newfound curiosity within us.
Our visit continued with an exploration of greenhouses, each set with different conditions, followed by a tour of the hydroponics, aeroponics, and aquaponics areas. We observed the cultivation of plants without soil in hydroponic systems, the misting of plant roots in aeroponic setups, and the symbiotic relationship between plants and aquatic animals in aquaponic environments. These insights were truly eye-opening and deepened our understanding of biotechnology’s real-world applications and potential impact on society.
This visit not only enhanced our knowledge of biotechnology but also inspired us to consider its future possibilities. We extend our sincere gratitude to the Principal, Vice-Principal, and teaching staff for providing us with this invaluable opportunity.
