VISIT TO RED CROSS SOCIETY – CHILDREN’S HOME
Humanity is all about giving. Bill Campbell puts it better, “If you have been blessed, be a blessing to others.”
Reverend Sr Sabina Oliveira, Vice Principal of Sacred Heart Convent International School, along with Ms Ripcee Kaur and Ms Shaveta Arora accompanied Grade VIII A to distribute the items collected during the Joy of Giving Week to Red Cross Society – Children’s Home on 22nd November, 2023.
Red Cross Sahaita Model School (Bal Bhawan) is a home for children of diseased, impoverished, or incarcerated parents. This facility provides free boarding, education, and medical care for the children. The most precious amenity is a fixed cradle for individuals to anonymously leave infants without judgment.
The students of Sacred Heart Convent International School distributed food items to the orphans. They also sang, danced and played football with them. It felt absolutely amazing to have been able to bring happiness to those innocent faces. That moment was priceless. Little help from us meant so much to them and their invaluable reaction was equally important to us.
The children’s home did a good job of instilling values and virtues in them. The students of Sacred Heart family learnt that life becomes more meaningful when you encounter less privileged people. Only at such times do you tide over the insignificant and immaterial things and appreciate the bigger picture.
At the end when we were going to leave, we promised to visit them again. The visit actually gave a new vision and definition of life. Our student’s felt fortunate and learnt the true essence of caring and sharing.
