Spirit of Patriotism – Celebration of Independence Day
On 14th August 2024, Sacred Heart Convent International School proudly celebrated India’s 78th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotism. The event was a meaningful tribute to Indian Armed Forces, honouring their unwavering dedication and sacrifices in safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and independence.
It was hence fitting that the event was presided over by Lt.Col. Pankaj (2IC, 48 AD, Ludhiana), who graced the celebrations along with Principal, Sr. Shanthi, Vice Principal, Sr. Sabina and Bethany Sisters from the Convent.
The event was an opportunity for Grade 2B, 3A and 8A of the school to demonstrate independent India via an assembly in the presence of honourable chief guest.
Students actively participated in a series of activities that included dancing, patriotic singing and a thoughtfully put together skit highlighting the importance of nurturing our daughters to take their rightful place in New India, be it in corporate offices or Armed Forces. The play, aptly titled, Wings of Will was a declaration of intent that women of independent India were equal to their counterparts in all aspects.
The Dramatics Club of the school presented a one of its kind, Mime that detailed India’s journey from Independence to the present day.
The Chief Guest addressed the students and encouraged them to remember the sacrifices made by our ancestors and the need to contribute positively to the nation’s growth.
The celebration concluded with the singing of the national anthem, echoing through the school premises.
