On 11 May, 2024 an eyesight check-up activity was organized for our young Cambrinites. The purpose behind organizing this activity was to not only create awareness but also to address the increasing issue of poor eyesight among students. This was organized as a part of Saturday activity for classes I to V. All the students participated in this awareness activity.
An expert professional team of two ophthalmologists, two opticians, one senior manager and two assistants, from ASG Eye Hospital, Malhar Road, Sarabha Nagar, Ludhiana came and checked the eye sights of the students. They also briefed the students a little about harmful effects of excessive screen time and unhealthy diet habits, leading to poor eyesight.
The students carried their school diaries along, as a prescription and an eyesight check up score was given to them by the ophthalmic team. A Retinoscope and a direct Ophthalmoscope were used to draw the eyesight number. Later the lens requirement was also checked by various lenses. The opticians checked each student one by one. Vice Principal – Sr. Sabina along with activity in-charge and co-ordinator were actively engaged in ensuring the success of the activity.
The students became aware of the anomalies and importance of a good eyesight. All these facilities and arrangements were done by the school and were completely free of cost. The school understands the value of a good eyesight and its importance in the life of the students. The team from ASG eye hospital was also presented with a token of appreciation by the school.
