The birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the revered founder of Sikhism, was celebrated with great zeal and devotion at Sacred Heart Convent International School. The entire school community, from Nursery to Class 12, participated enthusiastically in the program, reflecting a spirit of unity and reverence.
The event commenced with a soulful recitation of two pauris of Japji Sahib, creating a serene and spiritual ambiance. This was followed by a melodious rendition of Kirtan by the students, which further uplifted the occasion. A series of engaging presentations highlighted Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s teachings and life, including an impactful play, informative PowerPoint presentation, heartfelt poetry recitation, and a captivating display of Gatka, the traditional Sikh martial art.
Concluding the event, the school’s Principal, Sister Shanthi D’Souza, commended the students and teachers for their efforts in organizing such a meaningful celebration. She emphasized the universal message of unity and harmony shared by all religions and urged everyone to embrace Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s teachings in their daily lives. She particularly stressed the principles of Kirat Karo (earn an honest living), Vand Chhako (share with others), and Naam Japo (meditate on God’s name) as guiding values for a fulfilling life.
