On 2 February 2026, the Sacred Heart Convent International School community came together for a warm and reflective Thanksgiving Assembly, centred on the values of gratitude, grace, and mindful appreciation of everyday blessings.
The assembly commenced with a serene prayer, setting a calm and contemplative tone for the morning. This was followed by soulful singing and graceful dance performances, all woven around the theme of gratitude and the importance of counting our blessings. Through music and movement, students expressed thankfulness for the people, opportunities, and simple joys that shape their daily lives.
A thoughtful presentation by the Grade 7 students added a global dimension to the programme, as they shared how the words “thank you” are spoken in different languages across cultures. This segment beautifully highlighted gratitude as a universal value that transcends borders and traditions.
The youngest members of the school charmed the audience with cheerful action songs and expressive movements, conveying heartfelt thanks in their own simple and joyful way. Their participation brought warmth, innocence, and vibrant energy to the celebration.
In her brief yet meaningful address, Principal Sr Shanthi reminded students that gratitude is best practised in everyday actions. She encouraged them to acknowledge parents, caregivers, and all those who quietly support their routines, reinforcing the idea that thankfulness should be lived, not merely spoken.
The assembly also recognised positive conduct and collective effort within the school. Students who made generous contributions during the Joy of Giving Week were appreciated and presented with certificates acknowledging their generosity and spirit of compassion. Additionally, Best Classes were announced under two categories—Discipline and Activities—across the Pre-Primary, Primary, Lower Secondary, and IGCSE to AS & A Level sections.
The Thanksgiving Assembly served as a gentle yet powerful reminder that gratitude nurtures kindness, strengthens relationships, and fosters a positive school culture. It was a celebration marked by reflection, appreciation, and many genuine smiles.
