As part of their Social Studies curriculum, the students of Grade 6 embarked on an educational visit to Pakhowal village to explore and understand the functioning of rural administration. This immersive experience was organised under the guidance of ADC Ms. Navdeep Bhandari.
During the visit, the students had the opportunity to interact with the Sarpanch, Mr. Charanjeet Singh, who shared valuable insights into village governance and community development. His explanations helped students understand how local leadership plays a crucial role in ensuring growth, harmony, and civic welfare.
The students were delighted to discover that Pakhowal houses both boys’ and girls’ schools, reflecting the village’s dedication to inclusive and accessible education. They also visited the Dharamshala, a traditional rest house that continues to serve as a symbol of the village’s cultural heritage and community spirit.
One of the most striking observations was Pakhowal’s exceptional cleanliness and well-maintained infrastructure. The village has a modern sewerage system, interconnected roads with interlocking tiles, and a focus on environmental upkeep — all of which highlight the residents’ collective commitment to progress and public well-being.
The students also visited the Community Hospital, gaining awareness of the village’s healthcare facilities. To balance learning with recreation, they enjoyed a friendly game of football on the local ground, adding an element of fun and camaraderie to their day.
The visit to Pakhowal offered a valuable real-world lesson in governance, civic responsibility, and sustainable community living. It was a truly enlightening experience, blending classroom learning with appreciation for the thoughtful and organized administration of village life.
