Sacred Heart Convent International School (SHCIS) marked the 104th Foundation Day of the Bethany Congregation with a special assembly that beautifully aligned with the theme of the second edition of the school magazine, Echoes of SHCIS— Engage, Experience, Excel.
The function brought together students and teachers in a vibrant celebration of Bethany’s legacy and values, weaving together faith, learning, and achievement. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Sister Diana, Superior of the Convent, who was warmly welcomed by Sister Shanthi Dsouza, Principal of the Cambridge wing. The event was graced by the presence of several other sisters from the convent as well.
The central theme — Engage, Experience, Excel — was brought to life through a creatively structured play, with song, dance, and drama seamlessly interwoven. Students from Grades 1, 6, and 9 led the performances, each segment highlighting one dimension of the theme. The assembly opened with a devotional piece exploring what it means to engage in God experience. This was followed by an innovative science segment where students demonstrated the spirit of experiencing through exploration. The final acts illustrated what it means to excel — in values, learning, and contribution to society.
The celebration also marked the official unveiling of the second edition of the SHCIS school magazine, Echoes of SHCIS, with its theme forming the core of the Foundation Day performances.
The event left everyone present — staff, students, and sisters — deeply inspired and proud to be part of the ever-growing Bethany family.
