On March 19, 2025, our school had the privilege of hosting Ms. Achama Mathew, a Cambridge-accredited trainer and dedicated educator, for an enlightening orientation session on Global Perspective. With extensive experience in teaching and training for Global Perspectives as well as English, Math, and Science at the Cambridge Primary level, Ms. Mathew brought valuable insights into how educators can effectively approach this subject within the curriculum. The session aimed to equip teachers with strategies to foster a broader, more inclusive worldview while helping students develop a clear distinction between personal, national, and global perspectives.
Ms. Achama made a special effort to help teachers understand the essence of perspective and how to guide students in distinguishing between different levels of viewpoints. Through a series of engaging activities and interactive games, she ensured that the session remained lively and immersive, making complex ideas accessible and enjoyable.
She also emphasized the growing relevance of Global Perspectives as a subject in today’s interconnected world. Highlighting its interdisciplinary nature, she explained how it enhances students’ understanding of other subjects by encouraging critical thinking, cultural awareness, and a deeper appreciation of global issues.
The session was marked by enthusiastic participation, with teachers sharing their own insights and experiences. Ms. Achama’s dynamic and engaging approach left the educators inspired and better equipped to instill a global outlook in their students.
