On March 25 and 26, 2025, our school had the privilege of hosting an enriching two-day workshop with Dr. Harshita Sharma, Founder-Director of Brainstorm International, Certified Academic Language Therapist, and Internationally Recognized Phonics Trainer. With nearly three decades of expertise, Dr. Sharma introduced innovative teaching strategies to enhance literacy and holistic learning.

Day 1: Strengthening Early Childhood Education

The first day focused on Pre-Primary teachers, equipping them with interactive, multi-sensory techniques for early literacy. Dr. Sharma emphasized:

• Correct pencil grip and letter formation using Sky Writing, Desk Writing, and Worksheet Writing.
• Phonemic awareness and storytelling to boost vocabulary and reading skills.
• Structured phonics instruction, introducing small letters in a child-friendly sequence (A, S, T, N, P).

Day 2: Whole-School Engagement & Holistic Learning

The second day involved the entire faculty, exploring The Panch Kosha Approach, which nurtures different aspects of a child’s development:

• Brain Gym exercises for motor coordination.
• Mindful breathing for focus and well-being.
• Positive affirmations to build confidence.
• Discovery-based learning to spark curiosity.
• Interactive activities fostering empathy and self-awareness.

Dr. Sharma also introduced engaging methods for teaching parts of speech, reading strategies, and creative writing, making language learning more effective.

A Lasting Impact

The workshop was an inspiring experience, reinforcing that teaching is about transforming  young minds. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Harshita Sharma for her expertise and to our Principal, Sr. Shanthi Dsouza, and Vice Principal, Sr. Sabina, for their unwavering support in organizing this impactful session.
