Students of Classes IX to XII embarked on a five-day excursion to Bikaner and Jaisalmer from 11 to 15 October. An overnight journey brought the group to Bikaner, where the first day was devoted to exploring the imposing Junagarh Fort, the elegant Lallgarh Palace, and the unique Karni Mata Temple, best known for its resident rats — a sight that drew equal measures of curiosity and astonishment.
On 13 October, the group proceeded towards Jaisalmer, halting at the abandoned village of Kuldhara, a site steeped in legend. The evening was spent at the Sam Sand Dunes, where students enjoyed a cultural programme under a clear desert sky. A trio of singers took requests as warm snacks and tea were passed around — a moment many described as unforgettable.
The following morning began with the much-anticipated camel ride and an exhilarating jeep safari across the dunes — widely considered the highlight of the trip. Later, the group visited the historic Jaisalmer Fort and the serene Gadisar Lake, both of which provided picturesque settings for photographs and reflection.
After returning to Bikaner for the night, the journey concluded on 15 October as the buses rolled back towards school. Students returned with vivid memories — of music under the stars, golden sands at dawn, and stories they will recount for years — marking this excursion as a truly sentimental and memorable chapter in their school life.
