A DAY OF CULTURAL AND PATRIOTIC ENRICHMENT: SADA PIND EXCURSION AND THE WAGAH BORDER RETREAT CEREMONY
Our eager group of students from Grade 6 and 7 embarked on an unforgettable journey on October 5, 2023 to witness the rich tapestry of deep-rooted traditions of Punjabi culture, patriotism and history at two remarkable destinations, Sada Pind and the Atari-Wagah Border.Sr Sabina alongwith Class teachers and Co teachers accompanied the students.
Our first stop was Sada Pind, a living museum nestled in the heart of Punjab, that offered us a unique opportunity to step back in time and immerse ourselves in a sensory delight with its mud-plastered huts and bustling bazaars. We explored every nook and corner, witnessing artisans at work, trying our hands at mela games, and relishing the mouthwatering Punjabi cuisine.
Later we headed to the Wagah Border, where the uniformed border guards from India and Pakistan engaged in an elaborate and synchronized display of military drill, culminating in the lowering of their respective national flags. As we arrived at the Wagah Border, the grandstands on both sides of the border were filled with enthusiastic spectators and the atmosphere was electric with anticipation. The spectacle was a testament to the dedication and precision of the BSF soldiers. It was a moment of unity and collective pride that left an indelible mark on our hearts.
